BNP leader killed in motorcycle accident
A BNP leader named Abdul Aziz (62) was killed in a motorcycle accident in Baraigram, Natore. The accident occurred at Razzak intersection on the Banpara-Hatikumrul highway around 8 pm today, Friday (March 27). The deceased Abdul Aziz is the son of Rustam Ali Mandal of Jhenaigari Kalakti village in Bhangura upazila of Pabna district. He was the former general secretary of Bhangura upazila BNP.
Locals said that Abdul Aziz was returning home on a motorcycle from Banpara around 8 pm. When Razzak reached the intersection on the way, a Dhaka-bound bus named ‘Jamuna Line’ came from behind and hit the motorcycle. At that time, the motorcycle got stuck in the wheel of the bus and the driver drove the bus along with the motorcycle for about a kilometer. Abdul Aziz fell on the highway and was seriously injured in the accident. Later, locals rescued him and took him to the Baraigram Upazila Health Complex, where the doctor on duty declared him dead. Banpara Highway Police Station OC Moniruzzaman confirmed the incident.
