BNP leader files case over house fire, child’s death
A case has been filed after 4 days in the case of a fire that broke out at a BNP leader’s house in Lakshmipur, killing child Ayesha Akter Binti (8) and burning three others. On Tuesday night (December 23), burnt BNP leader Belal Hossain filed the case with Sadar Model Police Station, accusing unknown persons.
Sadar Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Wahed Farvez confirmed the truth of the case and said, “Belal has filed a case as a plaintiff. The incident is under investigation.” Additional Superintendent of Police (Sadar Circle) Rezaul Haque said, “Three locks have been recovered from the scene. Two of them were locked. The other was open. However, no evidence of pouring petrol into the fire has been found yet. The investigation is ongoing.”
Incidentally, miscreants set fire to the house of BNP co-organizing secretary Belal in Bhabaniganj union of Sadar upazila last Friday (December 19), killing his daughter Ayesha Akhter (8). In addition, Belal and his two daughters Salma Akhter Smriti (17) and Samia Akhter Bithi (14) were burnt. Smriti has 90 percent of her body burned. She is fighting for her life in the ICU of the Burn and Plastic Surgery Unit of Dhaka Medical College. Meanwhile, Bithi has 2 percent of her body burned. After treatment, she is with her family.
