BNP does not want to quarrel with the opposition: Mirza Abbas
Mirza Abbas, a member of the party’s standing committee and a candidate for the Dhaka-8 constituency, said that BNP does not want to quarrel with any opponent. He said, “InshaAllah, victory is at our doorstep.” He urged the leaders and activists not to fall into the trap of any conspiracy. He said these things at an election campaign rally on Wednesday (January 28) afternoon.
Mirza Abbas said, “BNP has held elections many times, and I personally held five-seven elections. In 1991, Jamaat-in-Charge Amir Abbas Ali Khan, Awami League leaders and workers and many parties participated in the elections. Since that election till today, in all the elections we have held, there has been no attack on any opponent. Not even an opponent has attacked. We held elections in a festive atmosphere.
Without mentioning the name of any party, he added, “They have no experience in elections, no experience in life. They have been given the responsibility of running the country. They are trying to tarnish BNP. They have nothing to say for themselves. Their job is only to speak against BNP. Their job is to humiliate BNP in front of the people. They think they have no other job in the world.”
Referring to BNP’s victory in the elections, Mirza Abbas requested the leaders and workers to remain calm in the face of any provocation. He said, “You should take care that no one else can divert this victory to another sector. Just be patient for a few days. In the trap of any conspiracy Don’t step in. They are saying a lot of provocative things, doing provocative activities, you should be careful in this. What kind of conspiracy do you see, they started the conspiracy long ago, it is still going on.
He also said, BNP is holding elections in 300 seats in Bangladesh. Peaceful elections are being held. Don’t try to create any unrest here (Dhaka-8 seat). No matter what you try, the people will answer. We will not answer. The people will answer through the ballot on the 12th (February).
