BNP calls emergency meeting
BNP has called an emergency meeting after the interim government’s chief advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus addressed the nation. The party’s standing committee meeting will be held at the BNP Chairperson’s office in Gulshan, the capital, at 7 pm today, Thursday (November 13).
Confirming the matter, Shairul Kabir Khan, one of the members of the BNP media cell, said that the BNP’s standing committee meeting has been called at 7 pm. The meeting will be presided over by the party’s acting chairman Tarique Rahman. Party sources said that the meeting was called immediately after the chief advisor delivered his speech.
Earlier, in his address to the nation, Dr. Muhammad Yunus said, ‘A referendum on the implementation of the July National Charter-2025 will be held on the day of the next parliamentary election. If the majority votes ‘yes’ in the July Charter referendum, an upper house of 100 seats will be formed based on the votes received by political parties in the lower house of the National Parliament.’
