Blast at police station in Jammu and Kashmir, 7 killed

At least seven people were killed and 27 injured in a massive blast in Srinagar, Indian-controlled Jammu and Kashmir. Five of them are in critical condition. The horrific blast took place on Friday (November 14) night. It is feared that the death toll may rise. NDTV reported.
Most of the deceased were police personnel and forensic department officials. They were at Nowgam police station to examine the explosives. Two officials of the Srinagar administration, a Naib Tehsildar, are among the deceased.
The injured have been admitted to the Indian Army’s 92 Base Hospital and the Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS). Senior police officials have reached the spot and the entire area has been cordoned off.
According to the NDTV report, the police personnel of the police station discussed the issue of putting up posters of the armed group Jaish-e-Mohammed in the area. Based on the posters, they claimed to have recovered a large quantity of explosives. They also said they would arrest some doctors.
Among them, a doctor named Adil Ahmed Rathe was arrested last October. He was putting up posters warning of major attacks on security forces and outsiders in Kashmir. After his arrest, a network that killed 13 people in a suicide bombing in Delhi was unearthed.
During the interrogation of Rathe, the name of another doctor named Muzammil Shakeel came up. A joint operation recovered about 3,000 kg of ammonium nitrate from a house associated with Shakeel, who was working at Al-Falah Medical College in Faridabad, Haryana. Shakeel and another teacher at the university, Dr. Shaheen Saeed, were later arrested.
