BJP threatens to block border if Chinmoy is not released.
The West Bengal BJP has demanded the release of Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari, spokesperson of Bangladesh Sammilit Sanatani Jagran Jote and ISKCON leader arrested in Bangladesh.
The state’s opposition leader, Shuvendu Adhikari, has also threatened that the Sanatanis will block the Bangladesh border if he is not released. At the same time, he has also threatened to protest in front of the Bangladesh Deputy High Commission in Kolkata.

Expressing concern over the arrest of ISKCON’s Sanatani leader Chinmoy Krishna Das in Bangladesh that night, BJP leader Shuvendu Adhikari told reporters, “We are very upset and worried about this news.”
He said, “Chinmoy Krishna Das Prabhu was arrested by Dr. Yunus’ government a while ago. We demand his unconditional release.’
The state’s opposition leader warned, ‘If Chinmoy is not released, there will be a protest at the Bangladesh Deputy High Commission and the Sanatanis will block the Bangladesh border with flags. We will not allow any services to pass through West Bengal to Bangladesh.’
He also said, ‘We are worried and saddened by the way the oppression of Hindus has started in Bangladesh. This will not be tolerated anymore.’
It is worth noting that the Bangladesh Sanatan Jagran Manch held a rally in Chittagong on October 25. Chinmoy Krishna Das is the spokesperson of this manch. Immediately after that rally, Chinmoy Krishna Das was accused of insulting the national flag.
Then, on October 30, a person named Firoz Khan filed a case against Chinmoy Das and 19 others at the city’s Kotwali police station. The case was filed under the Sedition Act on charges of insulting the national flag of Bangladesh. Law enforcement has already arrested two people in this incident. Their names are Rajesh Chowdhury and Hridoy Das.
The other people accused in the case are Chandan Kumar Dhar, ISKCON’s Chittagong divisional organizing secretary and principal of Pundarik Dham temple, Prakash Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari, Chittagong Hindu Jagran Mancha coordinator Ajay Dutt, city promoter ISKCON temple principal Leela Raj Das Brahmachari, Gopal Das Tipu, Dr. Kathak Das, Engineer Amit Dhar, Roni Das, Rajiv Das, Krishna Kumar Datta, Jiku Chowdhury, Newton De Bobby, Tushar Chakraborty Rajiv, Mithun De, Roop Dhar, Rimon Dutt, Sukanta Das, Bishwajit Gupta, Rajesh Chowdhury and Hridoy Das.
It is worth mentioning that recently, two organizations named Bangladesh Sanatan Jagran Mancha and Bangladesh Sammilit Minjarlaghu Jote started organizing programs under the banner of ‘Bangladesh Sammilit Sanatani Jagran Jote’. Chinmoy Krishna Das was made the spokesperson of this new alliance.
Meanwhile, ISKCON (International Society for Krishna Consciousness) Bangladesh recently expelled Chinmoy Krishna Das.
