BJP leader warns Hindus in Bangladesh
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Leader of Opposition in the West Bengal Legislative Assembly, Subhendu Adhikari, has warned, “The atrocities on Hindus in Bangladesh must be stopped immediately. Otherwise, we will fight for one crore Hindus, one and a half to two crore Hindus in Bangladesh,” he told reporters after meeting the Deputy High Commissioner of Bangladesh in Kolkata on Friday (December 26) afternoon.
After a protest in front of the Bangladeshi Deputy Embassy in Kolkata protesting against the atrocities on Hindus in Bangladesh, a four-member delegation, including Opposition Leader Subhendu Adhikari, met the Deputy High Commissioner under the mediation of the police and submitted a memorandum. The memorandum demanded ensuring the safety of Hindus in Bangladesh and exemplary punishment for the accused in the murder of Dipu Das in Mymensingh.
After the meeting, the Leader of Opposition in the West Bengal Legislative Assembly said that the current government of Bangladesh, through the Deputy High Commission in Kolkata, was protesting and concerned about the violence against the Hindu community in the country. According to Subhendu Adhikari, they wanted to know what the crime of Dipu Chandra Das was. In response, it was informed that bail would not be granted until the arrestees were tried. Regarding compensation, the Deputy High Commission said that the state has taken full responsibility of the families of the deceased.
The BJP leader alleged that Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had neglected her police force and resorted to reckless lathi-charge on Hindus. Subhendu Adhikari claimed that more than 10 people were injured in the police lathi-charge on Tuesday. Some had their heads broken, some had their noses broken, and even saints were beaten up. 19 people have been arrested in this incident. Out of these, 7 women have already been granted bail and 12 were produced in court on Friday.
Subhendu Adhikari said that Bangladesh must stop the torture of Hindus. If necessary, we are ready to fight for one billion Hindus and one and a half to two crore Hindus in Bangladesh. He warned that saints from Kashmir to Kanyakumari will come to the Gangasagar Mela held at Kapil Muni’s ashram. In the meantime, if the atrocities on Hindus in Bangladesh do not stop, he will again come in front of the embassy with five lakh saints and saints and strengthen the movement. Recently, the West Bengal state unit of the BJP called for a protest in front of the Bangladesh embassy in Kolkata to protest the killing of a Hindu youth named Dipu Das in Bhaluka, Mymensingh, Bangladesh. A radical organization called Hindu Samhati joined the protest by expressing solidarity with them. A procession of saints dressed in saffron clothes started from the Sealdah station premises in Kolkata. When the procession moved towards the Bangladesh embassy, the Kolkata police stopped it at the Behala Bagan intersection. Meanwhile, the deputy embassy and the surrounding area have been surrounded by tight police security since various extremist organizations began protest programs.
