Bhutanese Prime Minister leaves Dhaka

Bhutanese Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay has returned home after a two-day state visit. The plane carrying him left Dhaka for Bhutan from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at around 8:30 am today, Monday (November 24).
He was seen off at the airport by Foreign Affairs Advisor Md. Towhid Hossain. Commerce Advisor Sheikh Bashir Uddin and Foreign Secretary Asad Alam Siam were present there at the time. Before leaving Dhaka, the Bhutanese Prime Minister was given a ‘static guard of honor’ as per state protocol.
Two important memorandums of understanding (MoUs) were signed between Bangladesh and Bhutan on healthcare and internet connectivity during this visit. In addition, during the visit, the Bhutanese Prime Minister held a bilateral meeting with Bangladesh’s Principal Advisor Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus. He also met other government advisors, senior officials and political leaders.
Earlier, Tshering Tobgay arrived in Dhaka on a state visit last Saturday (November 22). He landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 8 am that day. Tobgay was welcomed by Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus with a red carpet welcome at the airport. He was also given a ‘guard of honour’ at the time.
