BGB patrols strengthened at border to prevent illegal infiltration and escape
Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has strengthened special security measures at the Naogaon border to prevent illegal infiltration and escape to neighboring countries. Search activities are being conducted through temporary check posts to maintain law and order. This information was released in a press release sent by 14 BGB of Patnitala Upazila and 16 BGB of Naogaon on Tuesday (December 23) afternoon.
The press release said that the bordering upazilas of Naogaon district are Dhamairhat, Patnitala, Sapahar and Porsha. Special security measures have been strengthened in the border areas under the responsibility of 14 and 16 BGB so that illegal infiltration can be prevented in this area and criminals cannot escape to neighboring countries. In addition to ensuring border security, BGB members are working tirelessly to curb drug smuggling, smuggling of illegal goods and border crimes. They are performing their duties day and night, ignoring various adverse conditions.
Based on intelligence information, regular patrols have been intensified at important places and checkpoints under the responsibility of various BOPs under the Naogaon Battalion (14 and 16 BGB). Through this, security is being ensured at all important places on the border. In addition, search activities have been continued by setting up multiple check posts at all the crossing points of the border. In addition, strict surveillance and search activities are also being conducted at the entry points of the border area through mobile patrols from the battalion headquarters.
Commander of Naogaon Battalion (16 BGB) Lt. Col. Mohammad Ariful Islam Masum and Commander of Patnitala Battalion (14 BGB) Lt. Col. Md. Abdullah Al Mamun said, “Strong steps have been taken to strengthen patrols, increase surveillance, set up special check posts and suppress cross-border crimes in the border areas under their responsibility.” The BGB has pledged to continue these activities to prevent illegal infiltration and prevent criminals from escaping.
