BGB deployed in Dhaka and surrounding districts

14 platoons of BGB have been deployed in the capital Dhaka and surrounding districts to maintain overall law and order and ensure security. Since the Awami League announced a lockdown program in Dhaka on November 13 (Thursday), BGB has been deployed in the capital and its surrounding areas to prevent misdeeds such as cocktail explosions and arson in vehicles and to ensure security.
This Wednesday (November 12) morning, BGB Headquarters Public Relations Officer Md. Shariful Islam told the media that BGB has been deployed in the capital Dhaka and surrounding districts to maintain overall law and order and ensure security. Of these, 12 platoons have been deployed in the capital and Dhaka and two platoons in surrounding districts, a total of 14 platoons of BGB have been deployed. It is known that the BGB will remain deployed until further orders.
The verdict date for the three accused, including ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, in the case of crimes against humanity committed during the mass uprising in July last year has been announced for November 13. The banned Awami League has called for a ‘lockdown’ program in the capital Dhaka in light of the verdict.
