Barrister Asim’s comments on participation in elections for advisors
BNP has held a mass procession in Dhaka-10 constituency in support of the paddy sheaf symbol ahead of the upcoming 13th National Parliament elections. It started from Gate No. 1 of New Market on Sunday afternoon (October 26) and ended in front of Rapa Plaza on Road No. 27, Dhanmondi.
Local leaders and activists of BNP, Jubo Dal, Swechchhasebak Dal and Chhatra Dal participated in the mass procession led by BNP’s International Affairs Secretary Barrister Nasir Uddin Ahmed Asim. Slogans like ‘We want the freedom of democracy’ and ‘Vote with paddy sheaf’ were raised throughout the procession.
In a brief rally, Barrister Asim said that if any of the advisors want to participate in the elections, they should resign immediately. He alleged that some advisors of the government are trying to gain public sympathy by secretly approving various projects – which the people are not seeing well. He also said, “Come down to the ranks of the people, prove your popularity through their verdict. The people of the country are once again waking up for the grain of rice.”
