Barca’s win with Lewandowski’s goal
Barcelona got their first victory in the new season of the Champions League.
Robert Lewandowski scored twice for Barca on Tuesday. Rafinha and Inigo Martinez scored one goal each. The other goal was a suicide by Boys.
Earlier, Barca opened the Champions League campaign with a 2-1 loss against Monaco in the eighth minute when the Boys’ goalkeeper was unable to keep out Rafinha’s superb low cross at the near post. Lewandowski ran into the empty net at the far post.
Barcelona doubled the lead in the 34th minute. Pedri’s vigorous shot was headed home by one of the visitors. Brazilian winger Rafinha, who is in rhythm, easily takes care of the rest after receiving the loose ball. Martinez made the score line 3-0 in the 37th minute. The experienced defender jumped high on Pedri’s free kick and headed it home.
In the second half, Barcelona increased the gap in the 51st minute. Lewandowski got the ball onto Martinez’s head from Rafinha’s corner. The experienced striker managed to clear the rest of the mess. And in the 81st minute, the gap increased due to the mistakes of the boys. Mohamed Ali Kamara sent the ball into his own net.
Cooley sent the ball into Barcelona’s net in the first minute of added time. But the goal did not match. The goalkeeper blows the whistle for offside with the help of VAR.
