Barca’s big win with Lewandowski’s double goal

Real Madrid will be far ahead of Barca in terms of stars, fame and tradition. However, in the face-to-face meeting, the club of the kings of Spain is in poor condition. In the first El Clasico of the season, the Galacticos were simply blown away by Barca at home.

Barca won 4-0 in a heated match at the Santiago Bernabeu on Saturday night. Where Kylian Mbappe has disappointed Real by wasting one opportunity after another in the first Clasico of his career. On the other hand, the three stars of Barca’s attack shined. Robert Lewandowski scored twice after a scoreless first half. Lamin Yamal and Rafinha scored one goal each.

Hansi Flick’s men ended Real’s 42-match unbeaten run in La Liga with a superb performance. Real last lost in the league in September last year, 3-1 at Atletico Madrid. At the same time, the Catalan giants advanced by 6 points in the points table. Barca’s points are 30 from 10 wins in 11 matches. Last time champion Real is number two with 24 points in equal matches.

Barca, on the other hand, kept the record for the longest unbeaten run in Spain’s top league. Under the coaching of Ernesto Valverde, they were unbeaten for 43 consecutive matches from April 2017 to May 2018. Barca’s win-drought in the Clasico was also broken. Because Real won all the previous four matches.

However, on this day, Real started attacking. Where Mbappe got a chance in the second minute. He sat outside in one-on-one. Although the referee blows the whistle for offside.

Then Yamal got a golden opportunity in the thirteenth minute. He latched on to Lewandowski’s flick from midfield and burst into the box, but the Spanish winger took a weak shot past the keeper.

In the 32nd minute of the game, Lucas Vazquez’s through ball entered the box and sent Mbappe into the net. After a while, the joy fades, the referee blows the whistle for offside with the help of VAR.

Lewandowski put Barcelona in the driver’s seat with a pair of goals in two minutes, 54 to 56 after the break. Where Leva took control of Mark Casado’s pass from midfield and sent a low shot into the net from outside the box. The 36-year-old star then headed in the second goal after leaping into the box from Alejandro Balder’s cross.

Mbappe, who moved from PSG to Real, failed to capitalize on a golden opportunity in the 64th minute. Vinicius’ pass was the only obstacle in front of the French star, whose effort was blocked by Peña. In the next minute, Mbappe sent the ball into the net again, but the goal was not scored due to offside.

In the 77th minute, Yamal made it more difficult for Real to turn around with a wonderful goal. After receiving Rafinha’s pass in the box, he found the address with a strong right-footed shot at the near post. Yamal also became the youngest player to score a goal in the Clasico (17 years and 106 days). And in the 84th minute, Rafinha put the last nail in Real’s coffin. The 27-year-old Brazilian forward snuck past Inigo Martinez’s pass to knock down one of the defenders, then burst into the box and beat the Aguan goalkeeper.
