Banned Chhatra League president flees after pushing OC
A banned Chhatra League leader named Atiqur Rahman Somel Sardar has fled after pushing Sakhipur Police Station OC Md. Nazim Uddin Majumder of Bhedarganj Upazila of Shariatpur. Sakhipur Police Station OC Md. Nazim Uddin Majumder confirmed this information on Saturday (January 17) night. The incident took place in Sakhipur Bazar yesterday afternoon. It is learned that Chhatra League leader Atiqur Rahman Somel Sardar is the president of the banned Chhatra League’s Sakhipur Police Station and the son of the deceased Mojibur Sardar, a resident of Sardar Kandi village of Sakhipur Union.
According to police sources, a police team led by OC Nazim Uddin Majumder was conducting a raid in Sakhipur Bazar yesterday afternoon regarding the sale of open soybean oil and the police initially conducted patrolling activities to warn. At that time, the OC wanted to know the identity of the Chhatra League leader as per the Devil Hunt Phase-2 operation. Later, the Chhatra League leader pushed the OC and ran away without giving any answer. At that time, the OC’s fingernail was broken while trying to catch him. He was given primary treatment at Sajeda Jabbar Hospital. Later, after treatment at the Upazila Health Complex, he was taken to the police station. In this regard, Sakhipur Police Station OC Md. Nazim Uddin Majumder said on his mobile phone, “Yesterday, I was campaigning to warn traders about selling open oil in the market. Later, I saw the president of the banned organization Chhatra League at a shop in the market. Seeing us, he tried to run away. When I asked him his political identity, he pushed me and ran away without answering. But when I tried to catch him, half of my fingernail was torn off. Later, I went to the hospital for treatment. I informed my superior officer about the matter. I will take action as per the instructions of the sirs.”
