Banned Chhatra League holds 20-minute protest on Gopalganj highway

In support of the strike program in Kashiani, Gopalganj, leaders and activists of the banned Chhatra League blocked the Dhaka-Khulna highway by throwing tree trunks and setting them on fire in Dumdia. The program was held in Tilchhara and Dumdia areas from 7:45 am to noon today, Monday (November 17). Vehicles were stranded on both sides of the highway.
Locals said that around 7:45 am, some leaders and activists of the banned Chhatra League blocked the road for about 20 minutes by throwing tree trunks on the highway adjacent to Tilchhara Bazar. At that time, traffic on both sides was stopped.
On receiving the information, Kashiani police station and police reached the spot quickly. Later, the police removed the tree trunks and normalized traffic on the road. Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kashiani police station Kamal Hossain said that some people tried to block the road. Sensing the presence of the police, they fled.
