Bangladeshi youth stabbed to death in Portugal
A Bangladeshi man named Shamim Hossain (35) was stabbed to death in Costa da Caparica, located on the outskirts of Portugal’s capital Lisbon. Initially, it was learned that the deceased Shamim’s home was in Comilla district. The incident occurred last Monday (October 27) at around 11 pm local time.
According to eyewitnesses and local sources, Shamim Hossain worked at a fast food restaurant. As usual, he went to work on a bicycle. After a while, a man of African descent stole the bicycle and tried to escape. At that time, Shamim saw the thief and chased him. At one point, the man stabbed Shamim in the chest with a knife he had and fled. Shamim died on the spot.
Later, when locals informed the police, they reached the spot, recovered the body and sent it to the hospital. Authorities said that the police have started an investigation into the incident and are conducting a drive to arrest the accused. The Bangladeshi community and expatriates have expressed deep shock and anger over this incident.
