Bangladeshi tailor wins 650 million taka after buying lottery for the first time
A Bangladeshi tailor living in Dubai won a jackpot of 20 million dirhams (more than 650 million 69 million taka in Bangladeshi currency) in the latest draw of Big Ticket. It is learned that this was the first ticket he bought. According to the media Khaleej Times, the Bangladeshi named Sabuj Mia Amir Hossain Dewan has been living in Dubai for the past 18 years. He had been working tirelessly to support his family in Bangladesh with the income he earned from working as a tailor. Sharing his story, Sabuj Mia said, “This is the first ticket I have bought and I bought it myself. I often heard about Big Ticket from my friends around me. So I thought, why not take a chance? Later, I went to Abu Dhabi and bought a ticket from a shop.” Shocked by the news of winning the lottery, Sabuj Mia also said, “I am an ordinary tailor, my salary is very low. So you can imagine the emotions going through my mind right now.’ He also said that this lottery win has the potential to completely change his family’s future. Asked what he would do with the lottery money, the 36-year-old Bangladeshi said, ‘I haven’t decided yet how I will use the prize money. I want to talk to my family first. I may consider buying from Big Ticket again in the future. But for now, I am grateful and happy with this incredible win.’ But Sabuj is not the only lucky winner this month. Another Bangladeshi expatriate, who has been living in Sharjah since 2009, won the prize. The 42-year-old businessman, Parvez Hossain, won a new Range Rover Velar car. For years, Parvez has been traveling from Sharjah to Abu Dhabi every month with a friend and has faithfully bought Big Ticket entries from the shop.
