Bangladesh is getting support from OIC countries: Dr. Khalilur Rahman

Foreign Minister Dr. Khalilur Rahman has assured full support from OIC countries for Bangladesh’s candidacy for the post of President of the United Nations General Assembly. He said that the representatives of OIC countries have said that they will not only support Bangladesh, but will also campaign for Bangladesh.
He said these things while talking to reporters at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport after returning to Dhaka at 12:10 pm on Friday (February 27) after his visit to Saudi Arabia. Expressing concern over the growing tension between Afghanistan and Pakistan, Foreign Minister Dr. Khalilur Rahman said that war never brings good for anyone. Terming the ongoing tense situation between the two countries as ‘extremely sad’, he said that Bangladesh is monitoring the matter carefully.
Reiterating Bangladesh’s position on the Palestine issue, he said that Bangladesh is completely in favor of Palestine. We are in favor of establishing a Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital. Martyred President Ziaur Rahman also supported this demand. Khalilur Rahman said, “We unequivocally condemned the recent Israeli law regarding land acquisition at the OIC meeting. We said that Israel’s actions regarding land are a clear violation of international law.”
