Awami League leader Keka’s body recovered
The police have recovered the body of Awami League leader Sharmin Mousumi Keka in Barisal. Barisal Kotwali Police Station Sub-Inspector Majedul confirmed the matter.
Her body was recovered at around 10:30 pm on Monday (October 13).
It is learnt that the deceased Keka is the wife of Hiron Ahmed Litu of Sadar Road area of Barisal city and former organizing secretary of Jubo Mohila League of Jhalokati district.
Barisal Kotwali Police Station Sub-Inspector Majedul said that after receiving information on National Service 999, he entered the house and saw the body lying on the bed. Later, the female police examined the body and found blood clots in one part.
The relatives of the deceased alleged that Keka was killed by her in-laws. They did not inform anyone to keep the news of her death a secret. Even in front of the room where Keka’s body was, her husband Litu was sitting with Ramda. He did not let anyone enter the house. Keka’s relatives said that the family will file a case in this incident.
Meanwhile, Keka’s daughter Ditan said that after not receiving any news from her mother since the afternoon, she opened the door of the house at night and saw that her mother was lying dead in bed. She immediately informed her father about the matter. However, her mother had been suffering from heart disease for a long time. Earlier, she had a heart ring inserted in her heart.
When asked about this, Barisal Kotwali Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mizanur Rahman said, “Keka went to sleep in her room last Sunday night. Then, when the door of the house did not open until Monday night, the family members became suspicious. Later, her daughters opened the door and saw Keka lying dead in bed. Initially, the cause of death was not known. However, there were signs of injury on the body.”
He said that the body has been sent to the morgue of Barisal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital for autopsy.
It is worth noting that Sharmin Moushumi Keka was the accused in a total of 3 cases in July-August.
