Autorickshaw driver hacked to death in Bhola
An autorickshaw driver named Matlab Faraji was stabbed to death by miscreants in the Ghuingarhat area of Bhola.
The incident took place on the road adjacent to Reba Rahman College in Uttar Dighaldi Union at around 8:30 pm on Monday (July 7). The deceased Matlab Faraji is the son of Abdul Munaf of Char Kumaria village in Uttar Dighaldi Union of Sadar Upazila. Relatives said that Matlab Faraji was going to Gazaria Bazar from Ghuingarhat with a passenger at around 8 pm. When he went some distance along the road next to Reba Rahman College, the miscreants attacked him with sharp weapons and left him bleeding. Later, locals rescued him in a serious condition and took him to Bhola 250-bed hospital, where doctors declared Matlab dead. Relatives alleged that Matlab was killed to snatch the autorickshaw. However, the names and identities of the passengers in the rickshaw were not known. Sadar Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abu Shahadat Md. Hachanain Parvez said that immediately after the incident, evidence was collected at the scene. Investigation is underway. Legal action will be taken after identifying the culprits.
