Auto driver killed by cutting a canal
In Patuakhali, miscreants entered his house late at night and stabbed an auto driver named Mosharraf Khan (42) with a cardamom leaf. The incident took place late at night on Tuesday (October 28) in Shehakathi village of Jainkathi union of Sadar upazila. The deceased Mosharraf Khan is the son of Halim Khan of Boati bari of the village. After the murder, the police have started an investigation and recovered three pairs of sandals and a blood-stained shirt from the scene.
The deceased’s father Halim Khan said that about a year and a half ago, his son Mosharraf built a new house in a secluded area of the village and lived separately with his wife Shahnaz Begum and ninth-grade daughter Mala Akhter Koli. The miscreants entered Mosharraf’s house by cutting a canal at around 2:30 am yesterday. Mosharraf was sleeping on the balcony of the house and his wife and daughter were sleeping inside the house. Suddenly sensing the presence of people in the house, his wife Shahnaz and daughter Koli started screaming. Hearing the screams from a distance, people in the area started coming towards Mosharraf’s house. Realizing the matter, the miscreants tried to escape through the main door, but Mosharraf caught one of the miscreants. At that time, the miscreants stabbed Mosharraf with a cardamom leaf, as a result of which Mosharraf fell to the ground on the spot and the miscreants fled. Later, people came and rescued Mosharraf and took him to the hospital. The doctor on duty at the emergency department of Patuakhali 250-bed hospital said that Mosharraf was brought dead to the hospital. His body has been sent to the morgue for autopsy. Patuakhali Sadar Police Station OC Imtiaz Ahmed said that the body was recovered and sent to the Patuakhali Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy. Senior police officials visited the scene after receiving the information. The police have entered the field to investigate the incident. Preparations are underway to file a case.
