Attorney General’s Resignation
Attorney General Md. Asaduzzaman has submitted his resignation to the President. The resignation was submitted through the Law Ministry yesterday, Saturday (December 27).
Earlier, Sheikh Hasina left for India after resigning from the post of Prime Minister on August 5, 2024 in the face of anti-discrimination student and public movements. Two days later, on August 7, the then Attorney General A M Amin Uddin submitted his resignation to the President, citing personal difficulties.
The next day, on August 8, Senior Advocate of the Supreme Court Md. Asaduzzaman assumed office as the 17th Attorney General of Bangladesh. However, Md. Asaduzzaman received the nomination from BNP in the 13th National Parliament election. He announced his resignation after being nominated as the BNP candidate in the Jhenaidah-1 constituency.
