Attempt to set motorcycle on fire fails, mob catches and beats up man
A local crowd beat up a young man named Md. Aminur Rahman alias Amin (26) while trying to set fire to a staff bus in the capital’s Adabor by pouring petrol. At that time, the police seized a plastic bottle filled with petrol from the scene. The incident took place on the embankment road adjacent to Sunibid Housing Nabadiganta Adarsh High School in the early hours of Wednesday (August 13). According to Adabor police station sources, some unidentified people including Aminur came on a motorcycle and tried to set fire to the bus. When the local people saw the incident, they detained Aminur and started beating him. At that time, his accomplices fled. Later, the Adabor police station patrol police immediately reached the spot and rescued him and took him to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital. The doctor on duty referred him to the Neuro Science Hospital. After receiving primary treatment, Aminur was taken into police custody at 11 am the same day. Police also said that legal action is underway in this incident.
