Attack on Kuet students, case against 500 people
A case has been filed against 400 to 500 unidentified people in the Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET) incident.
This Wednesday evening University Assistant Registrar (Legal) Md. Saifur Rahman became the plaintiff and filed this case in Khanjahan Ali police station of the city on behalf of the university.
Public relations officer of Kuwait Shaheduzzaman Sheikh confirmed the information about the filing of the case.
He said, “In the wake of the attack last Tuesday, the Vice-Chancellor immediately promised all kinds of cooperation to the students and to prosecute any injustice.” The Vice-Chancellor specifically requested for speedy cooperation by contacting the local law enforcement agencies without any delay. Besides, to implement the demands of the students, the Vice-Chancellor called a meeting with all the Deans, Institute Directors, Registrars, Heads of Departments, all Directors, Provosts on Wednesday afternoon. But before the arrival of the law and order forces, when a clash started between some external terrorists and students, the Vice-Chancellor, Pro-Vice Chancellor and some other teachers personally went to the conflict site and expressed solidarity with the students and tried to stop the external terrorists. During this time, some teachers, vice-chancellor, many students and employees were also injured and admitted to Kuwait Medical Center.
Although the vice-chancellor’s physical condition worsened, he assured that all the demands of the students would be met soon. Meanwhile, all the students of the university and all concerned have been requested to remain calm. The law and order forces have been requested to provide full cooperation to prevent any kind of chaos.
