Obscene video appears on display at Kamalapur railway station.

A pornographic video suddenly appeared on a digital monitor at the capital’s Kamalapur railway station. Not being able to turn the screen off, the people threw bricks and broke the monitor.

It is learnt that the incident occurred late on last Friday night. The passengers present there went through an embarrassing situation.

An investigation committee has already been formed in this regard by the sources within the railway authority.

Station Master Shahadat Hossain admitted the incident of pornography playing on the monitor showing the railway timetable. “On Friday night, at around 2 am, pornography suddenly started playing on the monitor. At that time, people present at the station were unable to turn off the screen and broke it with bricks”, he said.

However, he said that it is not yet confirmed why and how the incident happened.

The police, however, said they believe this could have come from a device of someone to do with the railway or one might just have done it through hacking. The police said investigations of how the incident happened have already started.

The railway authorities launched a quick investigation after the embarrassing incident at Kamalapur railway station. Dhaka Divisional Railway Divisional Manager Mohammad Mohiuddin Arif said, “A three-member investigation committee has been formed to find out the cause of the incident. They will submit the investigation report within the next seven working days.”

Earlier, on October 28, a scroll reading ‘Awami League Zindabad’ appeared on the monitor at the entrance of Kamalapur railway station. The display was closed after that incident.
