After the fall of the Sheikh Hasina government, he was placed in the advisory council of the interim government formed on August 8 last year.
Asif Mahmud, who graduated from the Department of Linguistics of Dhaka University, started politics from the Student Rights Council. Later, he played a role as one of the initiators of the formation of democratic student power.
