Asaduzzaman Khan, the ‘Butcher of Bangladesh’

Former Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal has been called the ‘butcher of Bangladesh’ by Shafiqul Alam, the press secretary to the chief advisor to the interim government.

Shafiqul Alam said this at a briefing at the Foreign Service Academy auditorium on Sunday evening.

The press secretary said, ‘He (Asaduzzaman Khan) is one of the accused in the merciless killing of small children, boys and girls, students, rickshaw pullers, and workers of Bangladesh. You understand the standards of those who are giving him a platform and making news about him. This is a big propaganda campaign. No one in the world gives a platform to a brute. Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal is a brute of Bangladesh.’

In the press briefing, Apurba Jahangir, deputy press secretary to the chief advisor, said, ‘Donald Trump has announced a halt to all types of USAID cooperation worldwide for 90 days after taking oath as president. However, USAID will continue to provide food and nutrition assistance to the Rohingya who have taken refuge in Bangladesh.
