‘Army members must be ready to perform their highest duties when the country needs them’
Army Chief General Waqar-uz-Zaman said, “All members of the army must be ready to perform their highest duties in the needs of the country.”
He said this at the inauguration ceremony of the 7th ‘Colonel of the Regiment’ at the Bangladesh Infantry Regimental Center at the Parade Ground of Rajshahi Cantonment on Thursday at 9:30 am.
It is worth noting that through this, the Army Chief assumed the guardianship of the Bangladesh Infantry Regimental Center.
At the ceremony, the Army Chief said, “The Infantry Regiment has been performing its duties responsibly since 1971.”
He said that in the future, this regiment will be made more modern and capable.
In addition, Army Chief General Waqar-uz-Zaman urged all members of the regiment to always be ready to face the challenges of the 21st century through modern and up-to-date training.
The ceremony was attended by the Army Chief, senior officers of the Bangladesh Infantry Regiment and many others.
Earlier, when the army chief arrived at the parade ground of Rajshahi Cantonment, he was formally saluted according to traditional military customs. After that, the army chief was given the ‘Colonel rank badge’.
