Arguments begin today for Sheikh Hasina and three others

Arguments for the state in the case filed on charges of crimes against humanity and genocide during the student uprising in July-August are beginning today.
Today, Monday (October 20), state lawyer Md. Amir Hossain will present the state’s arguments for Sheikh Hasina and former Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan. Earlier, the state concluded its arguments for the fifth consecutive day last Thursday.
Later, the International Crimes Tribunal-1 headed by Justice Md. Golam Mortuza Majumder set a date for the state’s arguments to be presented.
The state has presented 54 witnesses in the case. Apart from the investigation officer, Daily Amar Desh Editor Mahmudur Rahman and Jatiya Nagorik Party convener Nahid Islam have testified in the case. However, as the two main accused in the case are absconding, they did not get a chance to defend themselves.
Meanwhile, testimony in the Ashulia 6 body burning case will also be held today at Tribunal-2.
