Announcement of construction of ‘Babri Masjid’ in West Bengal, communalism is being incited – BJP leader claims

Humayun Kabir, a MLA from the state’s ruling party All India Trinamool Congress, has announced the construction of ‘Babri Masjid’ in West Bengal, India. He said that the foundation stone of the mosque will be laid on December 6. This day is the 33rd anniversary of the demolition of Babri Masjid. However, a huge political debate has started in the country over this. BJP has accused Trinamool Congress of inciting communalism by playing vote bank politics.
December 6, 1992 – On this day, the five-hundred-year-old Babri Masjid in Ayodhya was vandalized. At least 2000 people lost their lives in communal riots. In 2019, the Supreme Court of India declared that the disputed land in Ayodhya belongs to the Hindu community. On which the Ram temple was built in January last year.
As the year has passed, the name of Babri Masjid has come into discussion again. Trinamool Congress MLA Humayun Kabir has announced the construction of a ‘Babri Masjid’ in the state of West Bengal, far from Ayodhya. He said that he will lay the foundation stone of the mosque on December 6, the 33rd anniversary of the demolition of the Babri Masjid. The mosque will be built in Beldanga in West Bengal’s Murshidabad district.
Humayun Kabir said, ‘The foundation stone of the Babri Masjid will be laid on December 6. Our leaders and workers will observe Solidarity Day on this day. Muslim leaders will also participate in it. It will take three years to build the mosque in Beldanga.’
Humayun’s announcement sparked a heated debate in the Indian political arena. The BJP accused the Trinamool Congress of creating communal tension in West Bengal for votes. Although there is no problem in the construction of the mosque, West Bengal BJP leader and party’s All India Vice President Dilip Ghosh has opposed the construction of a mosque in the name of the Mughal emperor Baba.
Dilip Ghosh said that there is no ban on the construction of temples and mosques anywhere in the country. However, saying that ‘Babri Masjid will be built’ is against the interest of the country. Because there has been a massive movement going on around it for many years. Babur was an invader, so the people of this country do not respect him.
The All India Imam Association also gave a religious explanation on this issue. The head of the organization, Maulana Sajid Rashidi, said that perhaps they do not understand that once a mosque is built, it remains a mosque until the Day of Judgment. Even though hundreds of mosques have been built in the name of Babri Masjid in India, the importance of the original Babri Masjid in Ayodhya will never be erased. Incidentally, the Trinamool Congress is also preparing for a big political rally in Kolkata on December 6. The party organizes this rally every year to protest the demolition of Babri Masjid.
