All risky buildings in Dhaka will be identified and necessary measures will be taken: RAJUK Chairman

All risky buildings in Dhaka will be identified and necessary measures will be taken soon, said Rajdhani Unnayan Kartik (RAJUK) Chairman Engineer Md. Riazul Islam. He said this after inspecting the damaged buildings in Kasaituli, Bangshal, in the capital today (November 22).
The RAJUK Chairman said that the owner of the building whose railing collapsed in the earthquake in Kasaituli could not show the design. If the design is not shown within the next 7 days, the RAJUK Chairman has ordered the building to be sealed.
Several buildings were reported to have tilted and cracked in different areas of Dhaka in yesterday’s earthquake. To verify the actual condition of those buildings, the Development Control Branch of RAJUK inspected the buildings on the spot on the instructions of RAJUK Chairman Engineer Md. Riazul Islam.
