All-party meeting on July announcement will be held on Thursday.
Mahfuz Alam an advisor to the interim government said “a meeting will be held with all parties next Thursday to reach a consensus on the July declaration. The date of the declaration will be announced later.”
He made the remarks at a press conference held at the Foreign Service Academy in the capital on Tuesday evening.
Mahfuz Alam said, “We have spoken to various political parties, BNP, Jamaat and various women’s organizations, teachers’ organizations and student organizations. We have learned that they all agree on the July declaration that the declaration should be issued. But we have not been able to reach any consensus on when the declaration will be issued or what content it will contain.”
The advisor said, “There will be an all-party meeting on this issue next Thursday. We have informed various political parties and factions about the meeting. We have received comments from them on how it can be done.”
Mahfuz Alam said, “I hope that a document will be prepared based on consensus through Thursday’s meeting. When the declaration will be issued and how the government will play its role in it will be announced on that day. The context and expectations of the mass uprising of students and the public will be reflected in the declaration. The declaration will be issued based on everyone’s opinions and consensus.”
