All education boards have been directed to beef up security
The government has ordered to increase security in 8 education boards of the country including Dhaka. It has also been said to deploy the army if necessary.
Students protested yesterday in 8 education boards of the country including Dhaka, demanding the result of HSC examination ‘without discrimination’ by ‘mapping’ all the subjects of SSC. A clash also occurred during this time. Several students were injured.
Besides, Dhaka Education Board Chairman Professor Tapan Kumar Sarkar has announced his resignation in the face of the demand of students to pass auto. It is reported that he will resign today.
In this situation, security has been ordered to be increased in the boards fearing that the students may protest even today.
The students demanded that the examination of some HSC subjects postponed due to the anti-discrimination student movement was cancelled. Then the result of this test is published through topic mapping. However, students do not want to accept this result. They protested by surrounding eight education boards including Dhaka demanding the cancellation of published results. Clashes have taken place in the Dhaka Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Boards. 11 students were injured.
Students in Dhaka and Mymensingh went to the board office around noon. The students protested by blocking the chairman of the two boards until 9:30 pm.
The results of the HSC-equivalent examination were published on October 15. Due to the cancellation of the examination of the postponed subjects in the face of the movement, this time the evaluation of the HSC examination has been done in a different manner. The canceled examinations are evaluated on the basis of candidates’ SSC or equivalent examination marks (Subject Mapping). That is, the mark obtained by the student in SSC is taken into account in HSC.
And the subjects that were examined in HSC are evaluated on the basis of answer sheets.
