Ahnaf dies while visiting grandparents

A three-year-old child drowned in a pond while visiting his grandparents’ house in Haluaghat, Mymensingh. The incident took place in Kumaria village of Narail Union on Thursday (December 18) afternoon. The deceased Ahnaf is the son of Md. Mosharraf Hossain of Nogua village in Makimpur.
According to family sources, Ahnaf came to visit his grandparents’ house with his family a few days ago. This afternoon, the child was playing in the yard of the house without the knowledge of the family members. At one point, he fell into the pond in front of the house, hidden from everyone’s eyes. Later, his relatives started searching around after not finding him.
Even then, the child was rescued by searching in the pond in front of the house. Later, he was quickly taken to Haluaghat Upazila Health Complex, where the doctor on duty declared Anaf dead. Locals said that to prevent such accidents in children, it is important to ensure the safety of ponds and water bodies around the house.
