Advisor Hasan Arif laid to rest in the intellectual cemetery.
AF Hasan Arif, the interim government’s land, aviation and tourism advisor, was laid to rest at the Martyred Intellectuals’ Cemetery in the capital’s Mirpur. He was buried at 10:30 am today, Monday.
Meanwhile, a state mourning is being observed in honor of the late advisor today. Apart from this, special prayers will be held in all mosques of the country today for the repose of the soul of the deceased. In addition, special prayers will be organized in other religious institutions for the peace of his soul.
Incidentally, advisor AF Hasan Arif breathed his last at 3:10 pm last Friday after suffering a heart attack. He was 83 years old at the time of his death.
Hasan Arif took oath as an advisor to the interim government on August 8. He also served as an advisor to the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Land and Religious Affairs during the caretaker government led by Fakhruddin Ahmed. He also served as Attorney General from 2001 to 28 April 2005.
