Additional security being strengthened at the metrorail

Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) Managing Director (MD) Farooq Ahmed said that additional security measures are being strengthened at the capital’s Secretariat Metrorail station after two teenagers fell from the roof.
He made this known at a press conference held at the Diabari Metrorail building in Uttara, the capital, on Monday (December 1) morning. He said, “Arrangements are being made to install CCTVs at the entrance of the station to strengthen the security measures more than before.”
He said that there is no progress in the extension of the metrorail from Diabari to Tongi and no decision will be taken in this regard until the next government comes to power. He also said that there is no progress in the extension of the metrorail from Diabari to Tongi. The DMTCL Managing Director also claimed that there was no physical damage to the metrorail in the 5.7 magnitude earthquake that occurred on November 21.
