Actress Shami Kaiser has been arrested
Actress Shami Kaiser has been arrested by the police. Uttara West Police Station arrested him from Uttara in the capital on Tuesday night.
Uttara West Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Hafizur Rahman confirmed the matter. He said, “A case of attempted murder was filed against Shami Kaiser at Uttara Purba police station in the incident of one person being injured during the students’ movement. He has been arrested in that case.
After Sheikh Hasina resigned on August 5 and left for India in the face of a student uprising, her government’s ministers and party leaders, as well as many people from different classes and professions, are being arrested. Shami Kaiser was arrested last.
Earlier on August 14, Shami Kaiser resigned from the post of President of E-Commerce Association of Bangladesh (E-CAB), the organization of e-commerce companies in the country.
Shami Kaiser was a member of Awami League’s Sub-Committee on Liberation War. In addition, he collected nomination papers seeking the support of Awami League in Feni-3 seat in 2024 elections. However, he did not get the nomination from the seat.
Shami was born in 1970. His father’s name is Shahidullah Qaiser and mother’s name is Panna Qaiser. His mother Panna is a writer and former Member of Parliament. Former President AQM Badrudduja Chowdhury’s wife Maya Panna’s sister. Shami Kaiser and politician Mahi B Chowdhury are cousins.
