ACC files case against Joy for allegedly acquiring illegal wealth
The ACC has filed a case on charges of acquiring illegal assets worth Tk 60.14 crore while serving as former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s Information and Communication Technology Advisor. ACC Director General Akhter Hossain gave this information in a regular briefing on Thursday (August 14) afternoon. He said that the ACC has received information that Joy, as an employee of the republic, has misused his power and made suspicious transactions worth Tk 57 crore. He has even found two houses in the United States in his name. The value of which is more than Tk 54 crore in Bangladeshi taka. In addition, the asset statement of journalist Munni Saha and her husband has been sought, ACC Director General Akhter Hossain said. Earlier, the ACC decided to file a case against Sheikh Hasina’s son Sajeeb Wazed Joy, stating that it had found evidence of illegal assets and suspicious transactions.
