Former Agriculture Minister Abdur Razzak arrested
Former Agriculture Minister Dr. Abdur Razzak has been arrested by law and order forces. He was arrested from the capital’s New Eskaton Garden area on Monday.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Additional Commissioner of Police (DB) Rezaul Karim Mallik confirmed the matter.
He said, ‘Abdur Razzak was arrested from Iskaton area of the capital today around 8:30. There are multiple cases against him.
Abdur Razzak was no longer seen in public after the fall of Sheikh Hasina’s government in the student-Janata movement.
Abdur Razzak was the elected member from Tangail in the last parliament. He is a member of the presidium of Awami League. He served as Minister of Food and Agriculture. However, he did not have a place in Sheikh Hasina’s last cabinet.
Abdur Razzak started his career by joining Bangladesh Agricultural Development Corporation (BADC) as a scientific officer and ended his service in 2001.
