A young man was arrested with a pistol in Rangpur.

Joint forces have arrested a man named Ahsan Yusuf Pavel (42) with a pistol and country-made weapons from the Dhap area of Rangpur city. The arrested Pavel is a former leader of Chhatra Dal. He was arrested from his house at around 1:30 am on Wednesday (August 6). Lieutenant Colonel Mohammad Abu Sajjad Noab, commander of 30 Bengal of the 72nd Infantry Division in Rangpur, said that Pavel was arrested from his house next to the Dhap RG Clinic at 1:30 am on Wednesday. At that time, a pistol, two magazines, 3 rounds of bullets, chapati, hockey stick and country-made weapons were recovered from his house. He said that later the arrested Pavel was handed over to the Kotwali police station and a case was filed against him under the Arms Act. He also said that such operations will continue.
