A couple killed in an accident in Dhamrai
Three people, including a couple riding a motorcycle, were killed in separate road accidents in Dhamrai on the Dhaka-Aricha highway. They died in accidents at different times on Sunday night.
Among the deceased, Babul Hossain (30) and Sharmin (28) are residents of Nagarpur upazila of Tangail. They were working as laborers in a garment factory in Dhamrai.
Another person is Subhas Lohakar (75). He is a resident of Uchutia area of Manikganj.
It is learned that Babul-Sharmin, a couple riding a motorcycle, were killed when an unknown vehicle hit them in Balitha area of the highway around 9:30 pm on Sunday.
Police said that the couple was thrown from their motorcycle when an unknown vehicle hit them in Balitha area on their way home. They were rescued and taken to Manikganj Sadar Hospital where the doctor on duty declared them dead.
On the other hand, a pedestrian named Subhas Lohakar died after being hit by an unidentified vehicle in the Bathuli area of the Dhaka-Aricha highway around 11:30 pm on Sunday. Golra Highway Police Station OC Rupol Chandra Das confirmed the matter.
