94 children die of measles symptoms in 19 days
The measles outbreak across the country has caused panic and death. The Department of Health said that 94 people have died of measles symptoms in the last 19 days. Four more children have died of measles symptoms in four districts of the country including the capital in 24 hours.
Basically, the increase in the outbreak of this disease has also spread fear and anxiety among parents. The government is starting a special vaccination program nationwide from March 29. Children aged 6 months to 10 years will receive the measles vaccine. Doctors say that the number of children infected with measles is high due to not being vaccinated on time. Immunity is developed in the body within 3-4 weeks of vaccination. In that case, the risk of infection is greatly reduced.
According to pediatricians, if children are not vaccinated on time after birth, there is a high risk of contracting various complex diseases including measles pneumonia.
It is worth noting that in the last 24 hours, 2 children in Chittagong and 2 in Cox’s Bazar district have died of measles symptoms. 947 people have been admitted to hospitals in eight divisions, including Dhaka, with suspected measles symptoms. Of them, 42 have been diagnosed with measles in sample tests.
