90 to 100,000 soldiers to be deployed at polling stations: EC Secretary

Election Commission Senior Secretary Akhtar Ahmed said that 90,000 to 100,000 soldiers will be on duty in the 13th National Parliament elections.
He made this statement after the Election Commission’s exchange of views with representatives of law enforcement agencies at the Election Building in Agargaon in the capital on Monday (October 20) morning.
The EC Secretary said, “Of course, the environment is there to hold elections. 90,000 to 100,000 soldiers will be on duty, 150,000 police will be on duty. In addition, 550,000 Ansars will be on duty in the elections.”
Regarding the looted weapons, he said, “85 percent of the looted weapons have been recovered, the rest have not been recovered – work is underway.”
