8-day remand of 7 accused including Noora in controversial Narsingdi rape case

The court has granted 8-day remand of 7 accused including Noor Mohammad Noora, the main accused arrested in the gang rape and murder of a teenage girl in Narsingdi. The court of Narsingdi Judicial Magistrate (2nd) Md. Mehedi Hasan issued this order on Sunday (March 1) morning.
Earlier, last Friday and Saturday, the investigating officer of the case, Omar Qayyum, applied for 10-day remand of each of the 7 accused. Although the plaintiff’s lawyer appeared in the court on his own initiative in this incident, none of the accused’s lawyers appeared in the court. Last Friday night, while fleeing to India, the Narsingdi District Detective Police arrested Noora from Maona Crossroad in Gazipur and Hazrat Ali from Gouripur in Mymensingh at the same time.
It is worth mentioning that a group led by Noora kidnapped the teenager Amina from her father on Wednesday (February 25) night. The next day, Thursday (February 26) morning, the police recovered her body with a veil wrapped around her neck from a mustard field in Kotalirchar Darikandi area of Madhabadi police station. The teenager’s mother Fahima Begum filed a case in this incident and the police arrested 7 out of 9 accused.
