7 members of a robbery gang arrested in Natore

Police have arrested 7 members of a robbery gang in Natore. Superintendent of Police Tariqul Islam gave this information at a press conference around 12 noon today (October 16).
Earlier, on Wednesday night (October 15) after receiving a complaint of a battery-powered rickshaw being hijacked at Sadar Police Station, the police conducted raids at various places and arrested them. The hijacked rickshaw was recovered at that time.
The arrested are – Shakil (23), son of Selim Sarkar of Goaldanga village in Sadar upazila, Sayeed (19), son of Rafiqul Islam of Boro Harishpur area, Rumel (19), son of Shahidul Islam, Rubel (30), son of Joynal Bhuiyan, Ismail Hossain (43), son of the deceased Daru Mia, Jahangir Hossain (43), son of the deceased Ataur Rahman of Dhalat village and Ismail Hossain (43), son of Chhamir Uddin Molla of Fatengaphara.
The Superintendent of Police said that at around 8 pm on Wednesday, rickshaw puller Koel Hossain (22) went out with his rickshaw. At that time, the accused passengers Shakil, Sayeed, Rumel took him from Bora Harishpur area to Gunarigram road and snatched the rickshaw from Koel. Then they asked Koel to sign the stamp and pay 50 thousand taka to release the rickshaw. Later, they released him with a mobile number for contact.
The Superintendent of Police said that Koel was released with a mobile number for contact. That night, the rickshaw puller Koel filed a complaint with Sadar Police Station. Later, the police arrested 7 members of the robber gang. They have been sent to jail through the court, the Superintendent of Police said.
