7 footballers died in a car accident
Mourning is going on in Zambia’s sports arena. The microbus carrying players of Chavuma Town Council FC, a third tier football league team in the country, met with a horrific accident. 7 footballers of the team died in this. Twelve others were injured, the BBC reported.
Five of those injured in Saturday’s incident have been sent to the country’s capital, Lusaka, for further treatment. The country’s Football Association (Faz) has already expressed grief over the tragic accident.
Chavuma Town Council was traveling to the North West region of the country to play a match last Saturday. At that time the accident happened. The identities of the casualties have not been released. Meanwhile, Confederation of African Football (CAF) president Patrick Motsef said he and his governing body are praying for the speedy recovery of the injured.
