    67 days missing in the sea and then rescued alive

    Three people went on a sea trip. Later lost his way in the middle of the sea. Two of the three have died. But one was rescued alive after 67 days.

    Russian officials identified the man as Mikhail Pichugin, 46, who was rescued alive. Two months ago he started traveling the ocean in a small inflatable boat. 49-year-old brother Sergey and 15-year-old nephew Ilair were with him. When the fishermen rescued Mikhail, the bodies of the other two were still in the small boat. Their boat was found about a thousand kilometers from where they started their journey.

    Mikhail’s wife said they started traveling at the beginning of August. I wanted to see whales. They had only two weeks of food with them. He also said that due to his high body weight, he lived for a long time even though he ate less for many days. At the beginning of the journey, his weight was 100 kg. And when he was rescued 67 days later, his weight had halved.

    Mikhail’s wife also said, “We don’t know much yet.” All I know is, he’s alive… it’s a miracle.’ Mikhail’s daughter was also supposed to go on the trip. But later he decided not to go. The news also said that after the disappearance of the three, a helicopter went out in search of them. But nothing was found. Last Monday, a fishing boat spotted the Mikhails’ boat off the coast of the Kamchatka Peninsula.

    Mikhail is now under treatment in the hospital. He is slowly recovering. Doctors said, now his condition is more or less stable. Meanwhile, the councilors said they will initiate a criminal investigation into the incident. The boat has already been tested.
