    Panchagarh: After a three-day remand hearing, the court sent Advocate Md. Nurul Islam Sujan, former member of parliament from Panchagarh-2 constituency and former railway minister, to jail yesterday. Senior Judicial Magistrate Zahid Hasan sent him to jail in the afternoon. However, Sujan’s lawyers did not apply for bail today. It is also known that he did not give a statement to the investigation officer under Section 164. After Sujan was taken to court on Thursday (January 30), the investigation officer of the easy bike driver Al Amin disappearance and murder case and Sadar Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Manik Mia applied for a five-day remand. The court granted a three-day remand.

    Meherpur: Former Public Administration Minister and Meherpur District Awami League President Farhad Hossain, an accused in the anti-terrorism and Jamaat leader Tariq murder case of the anti-discrimination student movement, was produced before the court yesterday. The minister’s younger brother, District Jubo League Joint Convener Sarfaraz Hossain Mridul, and his brother-in-law and District Awami League Vice-President Abdus Samad Bablu Biswas were also produced in the same case. The accused applied for a seven-day remand for questioning in the Jabbar murder case. However, the judge granted a three-day remand to Farhad Hossain. At the same time, Sarfaraz Hossain Mridul was remanded for two days each in two cases and Abdus Samad Bablu Biswas was remanded for a total of five days in two cases. Meherpur Senior Judicial Magistrate Begum Sharmin Nahar gave this order.

He was arrested from the Gatepar area of ​​Jamalpur city. His name is Ashraful Alam alias Manik. He is the organizing secretary of Sarishabari upazila Awami League and chairman of Pogaldigha UP.

    Pabna: A case has been filed in the incident of snatching Sujanagar upazila Awami League president and former upazila chairman Abdul Wahab from a police vehicle. In addition, 16 people have been arrested in this incident. They were arrested in a joint force operation in different places in Sujanagar upazila on Sunday night. Earlier in the afternoon, when Abdul Wahab was arrested in front of Mathurapur High School in Sujanagar municipality, his supporters attacked the police and snatched the accused. 8 policemen were injured in the incident, said Pabna Superintendent of Police Mortoza Ali Khan. Later, SI Azahar Ali of Sujanagar Police Station filed a case as the plaintiff.     Ullapara (Sirajganj): Vice-president of the Central Committee of Chhatra League (prohibited) and former VP of Dhaka University (DU) Jasimuddin Hall Students’ Union, Farhad Ali, was arrested from his house in Dattakharua village of Ullapara upazila yesterday morning. Farhad is the son of Hasan Ali of that village. He is known as VP Farhad in the area. There is a case against him under the Explosives Act at the police station. He is being interrogated. Legal action is being taken.

    Ishwardi (Pabna): Police arrested Ishwardi Jubo League leader Rocky last Sunday night on charges of attacking the anti-discrimination student movement. He is the son of the deceased Naushad Ali of Piarakhali area of ​​the municipal town. A case was filed at the police station on August 18 regarding the attack on the anti-discrimination student movement in Ishwardi. Rocky Ezahar is the named accused in the case.

    Laxmipur: Former organizing secretary of the district Awami League, Advocate Nurul Huda Patwari, and general secretary of the municipal Awami League and former PP, Advocate Zahir Uddin Babar, were arrested from separate places in the city yesterday morning. They were presented before the court in a case of student murder during the anti-discrimination student movement on August 4. The court ordered them to be sent to jail.

    Dinajpur: Chirirbandar Upazila Awami League Women’s Affairs Secretary and former Upazila Women’s Vice Chairman Laila Banu was arrested by the immigration police from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the capital on Saturday evening. There are multiple cases against her, including murder and vandalism during the anti-discrimination student movement.
