5-year-old child raped in Jhenaidah

A youth named Jahangir Hossain has been accused of attempting to rape a 5-year-old child in Kaliganj upazila of Jhenaidah. The victim’s father filed a case against the accused on Friday (October 17) night.
The case details state that the child went to the accused’s house to play on Thursday afternoon. At one point, Jahangir took the child to the kitchen and raped him. At that time, his mother came forward after hearing the child’s screams and she ran away.
The victim’s family alleged that the accused’s family members prevented the child from being taken to the hospital. They also tried to cover up the incident by threatening and intimidating him.
Kaliganj Police Station OC Shafiqul Islam said that a case was filed in this incident around 1 am on Saturday. A drive is underway to arrest the accused. The child has been sent to the hospital for a medical examination.
