5 seriously injured in Gazipur attack admitted to DMCH
Five people who were seriously injured in the attack by some locals during the vandalism of the house of former Liberation War Minister AKM Mozammel Haque in Gazipur have been admitted to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital. They were brought to the hospital for advanced treatment at around 1:30 am on Friday.
Those admitted to DMCH are Shuvo Shahria (16), Yakub (24), Sourav (22), Kashem (17) and Hasan (22).
It is learned that among the injured, Shuvo Shahria is the son of Fazlu from Kamarjuri area of Sign Board in Gazipur. Yakub lives in Sharipur village of Gacha police station in Gazipur. He is the son of Meher Ali of that village. Sourav is the son of Ganesh Ghosh of Madhumita Road of Tongi East police station. Kashem is the son of the deceased Haji Jamal of Alhera Petrol Pump area of Gacha police station.
On the other hand, Hasan lives in Jorpukur area of Joydebpur police station. He is the son of Ibrahim Mia of that area.
Injured Sourav’s friend Pias said, “Around 8:30 pm, students of the anti-discrimination student movement went to AKM Mozammel Haque’s house. Then Awami League people attacked them with microphones. Many people, including my friend, were injured in this. Five of them have been brought to Dhaka Medical College Hospital so far.” Confirming the matter, Inspector Md. Faruk, in-charge of the police camp at DMCH, said that five people were brought from Gazipur in serious condition. They are undergoing treatment in the emergency department.
